Spring Weddings: Lots of Color
Wedding season is upon us again, and every year a trend or two seems to emerge. Some years it’s “eco-friendly” wedding themes; sometimes it’s outdoor weddings, or gem tones, or cupcakes. I’ve helped to coordinate a handful of weddings at Lied Lodge so far this spring, and one trend seems to be at the forefront right now: splashes of color — any color – in unconventional places.
Here are a few examples to get your wedding day creative juices flowing:
Wedding day colored shoes
The all-white bride is lovely, but why not add a splash of color to accentuate the wedding dress of your dreams? Colored shoes are a great way to show your favorite style. I’ve seen shoes from conventional Converse Sneakers to luxurious Louis Vuitton pumps. It’s your wedding; choose your favorite style and color, and go for it. Shoe image courtesy: www.theshoedish.com
Add a colored cardigan
As we know all too well here in Nebraska, Midwestern evenings tend to get a tad chilly — even in summer. A simple colored cardigan can take the chill away so you can dance the night away! Keep in mind you don’t want to cover up the dress of your dreams so keep it short and elegant. Image courtesy: www.glamour.com
Colored wedding band
Calling all Mariah Carey’s, Carrie Underwood’s, Rebecca Romijn’s and Katharine McPhee’s…. Adding color in a wedding bands is most likely out of the average bride’s budget, but these celebrities have started a world-wide trend for yellow, pink and black diamonds. Make a statement with a fashion-forward wedding ring that shows your unique style.
Color for the men, too
Who says all the color needs to be with the ladies? Spruce up the men in your wedding party with a pair of traditional argyle socks. Your man might throw you a little resistance at first but remind him that you have dreamed of this day all your life and the little finishing touches make your day memorable. It will get him every time. Image courtesy: blog.blueskifilms.com.
